Since this board hasn't been active before today and a lot of members coming from ASROT don't use ASR much anymore, I'll just give a brief update on MPEGs. The new ones shoot much better than the first MPEGs and don't need as much work out of the box, although it is said to be a good idea to open the gearbox and check for problems anyway. Most of them do shoot at a higher velocity than Tokyo Marui guns, around 330FPS, but this also means they'll break faster. Several of them come with RIS installed already. JG makes about the best MPEGs available. Echo 1 is the same as JG, but they repackage the guns to say they're from an American company (still made by Chinese workers in a sweatshop) and give a 30 day warranty. Supposedly Echo downgrades the springs in JG guns and/or takes the better JG guns, but this is not confirmed to my knowledge. A&K and DBoys also make good MPEGs. Galaxy makes a good MP5K. The Kart M14 was rebranded by Echo 1.

I would never reccomend the WELL R8. My friend has one and my stock TM M16 puts it to shame.

This is true... Im starting to like some of the newer MPEG's. Kinda want to base a SOPMOD M4 setup around one, with a grenade launcher, a sweet optic, that kind of thing.

The Echo/JG are good. I've not yet shot an A&K personally. But the Well R8 is pretty bad compared to the MPEGs that are now available.
